Belle Isle Men Fined For Proceeds Of Crime

West-Yorkshire-PoliceWest Yorkshire Police’s Leeds District Proceeds Of Crime (POCA) Team have secured orders against two men from Belle Isle.

Ricky Flint, of Nursery Mount, Belle Isle, was investigated for drug trafficking offences. He appeared before Leeds Crown Court on 4th February where a confiscation order was granted.

The total benefit of his crime was deemed to be £2,704.00 and he was given one month to pay £1,010 to the Courts or face a further seven days imprisonment.

Thomas Murphy, of Low Grange Crescent, Belle Isle, was investigated for burglary offences. He appeared before Leeds Crown Court on 25th February where a confiscation order was granted. The total benefit of his crime was deemed to be £1,026.00.

The difference between the benefit from crime calculated and the amount he had available to pay will remain outstanding for life. The order can be revisited at any point and if any assets are identified they can be used to settle the order, even if those assets have been obtained legitimately.
