Plans Panel to decide on Hunslet ‘swingers club’

A proposed ‘swingers club’ in Hunslet will be on the agenda when Leeds City Council’s South & West Plans Panel meets next Wednesday (17 September 2015).

Low Road KwikFit

Low Road, Hunslet

The Isis private adult members club is seeking to convert an empty industrial building at 73A Low Road in Hunslet located behind Kwik-Fit. The planning officer’s report describes the club thus: “The premises propose to provide a discreet, clean, safe and controlled environment for like-minded adults to meet and potentially engage in legal sexual activities, within the private rooms provided.”

The planning application created quite a debate locally on Facebook after it was reported in the Yorkshire Evening Post. Cllr Elizabeth Nash asked for the application to go to Panel stating “there is much hostility from local residents against this planning application.”

However only six objections were received and one letter of support from a neighbouring business and the planning officer concludes that the application meets planning criteria for the location. You can read the full report here:

The controversial Aspiring Communities proposal for the Ice Pak site in Beeston is not on the agenda for this meeting. You can read the full agenda and meeting papers here:
